    Pick a date that works for you from the upcoming beginner sessions.

    Book online

    Open the session page to review the time, location, and booking details. Sign in when you are ready to reserve.

    Meet us on the sand

    A coach will help you get oriented. After your first event, we will assign you to a group that fits your level.

Your first session

Your first session, made easy

You don't need to know how to play. Bring yourself, a bit of curiosity, and these few things.

Browse beginner sessions
  • Wear comfortable clothes you can move in on the sand.
  • Bring water so you can stay hydrated while you play.
  • Check the event listing and aim to arrive a few minutes before it starts.
  • Open the event details for its exact meeting point and any location notes.

Use these descriptions as a guide. If you are unsure, start with a beginner session and ask the coach for help choosing.

Start here

Level 1

Beginner

You are new to beach volleyball, returning after a long break, or still learning the basics and getting comfortable in a game.

Level 2

Intermediate

You know the basic skills, can play a full game, and understand positioning and simple tactics.

Level 3

Advanced

You have strong technique and game awareness, and feel comfortable competing with faster, more demanding play.

Lisbon Sun Setters

Who We Are & Our Mission

Lisbon Sun Setters is a beach volleyball association built on three core pillars: having fun, growing the sport of beach volleyball, and making the world a better place.

Our story began in 2023, as a group of friends that had started playing Beach Volleyball together at Carcavelos Beach. We realised that it was quite difficult to get into the sport, as it was not easy to join games on the public nets if you didn't know how to play — and there was nobody giving lessons or tips for beginners. The people playing at the beach consisted largely of small and exclusive groups that didn't cross over very much.

So we decided to try and make a change. We started organising trainings and tournaments, in order to bring people together and to make the sport more accessible. And so, the Lisbon Sun Setters Association was born, and officially created in January 2024.
